Barcelona are hoping to move on several unwanted players this summer, with one of those being Marc Casado. The midfielder does not have a prominence place in Hansi Flick’s plans for next season, which is why there is a strong desire to cash in now, rather than see his value gradually decrease if he stays as a fringe player.

In recent weeks, interest in Casado’s services have grown significantly. AC Milan joined the race for his signature earlier this week, while there has also been links with the likes of Manchester United and Al Hilal, although a new contender has now thrown their hat into the ring: Besiktas.

As per Sportitalia (via Sport), Besiktas have contacted Casado’s agent Jorge Mendes to confirm their interest in the Barcelona midfielder. Their sporting director Eduard Graf is a big admirer of La Masia, and with the 22-year-old being one of the talents to have progressed through the academy in recent years, it is hardly a surprise that he’s attracting attention from Turkiye.

Barcelona want €20m to sell Casado

Barcelona are more than happy to sell Casado this summer, but they will not simply give him away. As per the report, they have let interested clubs know that their asking price for a summer deal is €20m, which would be pure profit for the Catalans given that Casado came through the ranks at La Masia.

It’s unclear at this stage whether Besiktas would be willing to reach €20m for Casado, but considering the level of interest that is being shown in the midfielder, it would be no surprise if Barcelona’s demands were met. However, no one has come close at this stage, although there should be increased movement soon, given that the summer transfer window will open for business this coming Wednesday (1st July).
