CD Castellón’s colours were present at Spain’s World Cup celebrations, with two supporters taking the club flag to Plaza de Cibeles on Monday.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Mario Barberá and Iván González travelled expressly to Madrid to join the festivities, going as a duo solely for the occasion.
Mario, 14, plays for Sporting de Castellón’s cadete A side. González, 44, is a friend of his parents, Odisea coach and a regular CD Castellón volunteer, helping on matchdays at Castalia by holding one of the tarpaulins.
The pair said the plan was made as soon as the final ended and they headed to the capital for the celebration. Mario noted he travelled with Iván, his former coach and a figure closely linked to Castellón football. They waited with scarves for the national team to arrive.
They captured the day in photos and videos, appearing amid the crowd with the club colours. Even at a nationwide party, Castellón’s black and white found their space.
