Ruben Amorim had identified the players he wanted to get rid of quite early on in his Manchester United reign.
The likes of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia all formed the infamous “bomb squad” with INEOS trying to move on all five of them before the summer window slammed shut.
While the Argentine and the Brazilian joined Chelsea and Real Betis on a permanent basis, both the England internationals have departed on loan.
While Barcelona remain keen on signing the Mancunian permanently should he continue to impress, the former Manchester City academy graduate continues to struggle, this time at Aston Villa.
The only player who failed to find a new home for himself in the summer was Tyrell Malacia, who saw moves to Turkey and Spain collapse.
The Dutchman eventually rejoined United training, albeit for the U21s, with the Red Devils even including him in their Premier League squad.
While the 26-year-old remains a model professional, the devastating knee injury he picked up two seasons ago, has slowed him down considerably and he no longer is the same force he once was.
And the 20-time English league champions have no plans of keeping him at the club beyond his current contract which lasts until 2026.
According to The Manchester Evening News, Galatasaray are keen on the Netherlands international and are ready to pounce on him once he becomes a free agent next summer.
Interestingly, the report adds that Tyrell Malacia is desperate to leave Old Trafford, and he is willing to move in January itself if the Turkish giants are ready to pay a nominal fee.
“Galatasaray are leading the race to sign Manchester United outcast Tyrell Malacia. The Turkish giants have put Malacia on their summer shopping list, and are confident of luring him to Istanbul.
“Malacia has made his mind up to leave United at the end of this season when his deal is up. But he is desperate to get out of Old Trafford, and could move in January if Gala are ready to take him early and pay United a nominal fee.
“His relationship with manager Ruben Amorim has broken down, and is said to be ‘beyond repair’.”
United will not mind the ex-Feyenoord ace leaving in the winter transfer window. Clearly, he has no future at the club and does not fit the wingback system Amorim employs. And earning a fee will be an added bonus.
