Portugal and Austria face off in the final of the 2025 U17 World Cup this Thursday, November 27, kicking off at 5pm GMT at the Khalifa International Stadium.

It's a historic showdown—both teams are reaching the final stage of the competition for the very first time in their history.

Portugal booked their spot in the final by edging out Brazil in a dramatic penalty shootout (0-0, 6-5 on pens), while Austria stunned Italy (2-0) thanks to a brace from Johannes Moser.

To witness two debutants in the final, you have to go back to the 1991 edition, when Ghana defeated Spain (1-0). That was the last time two teams, both new to this stage, clashed for the trophy.

No matter who lifts the trophy tonight, we will have an 11th different champion, joining the likes of Nigeria, Brazil, Ghana, Mexico, Germany, France, the Soviet Union, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and England.
