Aston Villa have suffered a fresh setback, with on-loan midfielder Harvey Elliott ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League visit of Leeds United to Villa Park. Matty Cash is back available.
Elliott, 22, joined on loan from Liverpool in September and has featured both as a starter and substitute for Emery’s side, who are third in the Premier League. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Emery said the midfielder will not be available.
The head coach listed John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and Alysson as still injured, with goalkeeper Marco Bizot suspended.
Cash has returned to contention after missing two matches with a knee injury. Emery said the right-back trained in the last two sessions and is feeling good.
He added that the remainder of the squad are available for selection.
