Union St Gilloise have announced that young Finnish winger Capser Terho is set to join Bundesliga 2 side Paderborn on loan until the end of the season. The side are currently sitting in sixth place in the German second tier, but are only three points off of top spot. The club are looking to return to the Bundesliga for the first time since their relegation in 2019/2020. Paderborn had won back-to-back promotions but were unable to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old Terho has not been able to cement himself as a first choice option for Union this season. He has played 11 games across all competitions, with many of his appearances coming off the bench. There is clearly a talented player there, which he displayed last season with his four goals for the side. Since joining the side in January 2023, Terho has played 51 games and scored seven goals. However, his development will certainly be aided by some time starting games in the German second tier. Paderborn also have a purchase option included in the deal.
The former HJK Helsinki man has already won senior caps for Finland, having also represented his nation at multiple youth levels.
