The break isn’t stopping Roma.
On the contrary: while the league takes a break, at Trigoria they’re racing to secure at least two reinforcements in the very first days of January.
The Friedkins have given the green light, spurred by the league standings and Gasperini’s work, and now the transfer market is in full swing.
As reported by Leggo, the name at the top of the agenda remains Joshua Zirkzee.
Discussions with his entourage are ongoing daily, and Manchester United has opened up to the option most favored by Roma: a loan with an option to buy.
To make room for him, Roma are keeping an eye on Evan Ferguson: the possibility of moving him from his loan deal to Everton, the other club owned by the Friedkin family, is being explored.
Gasperini, however, is also waiting for the left winger he requested in the summer.
The two preferred players are Tottenham’s Mathys Tel and Ajax’s Mika Godts, players valued at over €25 million and eager for a change of scenery. Should one of the two arrive, the one to be sacrificed would be Baldanzi, already sought after by some Serie A teams.
