Gerónimo Rulli underpinned Marseille's 1-0 win over Monaco, producing a sharp save in the 29th minute to keep the game level before the breakthrough arrived.
He read Aleksandr Golovin's run and parried the midfielder's low effort (29.). Rulli then stood firm again, smothering Takumi Minamino from close range (42.), before gathering another Golovin strike on the stroke of first half stoppage time (45.).
After the restart, the goalkeeper's handling remained secure, pushing away Minamino's drive (74.). He sealed the points late on, getting down to George Ilenikhena's shot from distance (90.).
Rulli finished with five saves and six high claims, plus four aerial wins that calmed pressure in the box. He also completed 27 of 32 passes, helping Les Olympiens reset and regain territory when needed.
Because Les Phocéens protected their box with numbers and allowed their keeper clear sight of attempts, Rulli's positioning and handling kept Les Rouge et Blanc at arm's length throughout.
Les Phocéens host Nantes next. Les Rouge et Blanc face Lyon at home.
