Liam Delap has been praised by the US media following Chelsea’s win against ES Tunis in the Club World Cup on Tuesday evening.
The Blues bounced back from defeat against Flamengo with a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Delap, Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George.
The win sets up a last 16 clash against Portuguese giants Benfica on Saturday evening, after they recorded a surprise win against Bayern Munich.
Enzo Maresca made a number of changes to the starting line-up with the like of Filip Jorgensen, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Christopher Nkunku and Josh Acheampong all starting.
In the absence of Nicolas Jackson Delap once again led the line, and the 22-year-old has added a much needed different dimension to Chelsea’s attack.

The England under-21 international spoke about his connection with Enzo Fernandez after the game, and Delap has been praised by the US Media, who made a prediction about Chelsea’s number nine.
ESPN wrote:
“They had created a few openings and controlled the play, registering 75% possession in the first half, but were unable to press home that advantage. Time and again, this has been Chelsea’s undoing.
“Delap made sure the story was different this time and his first goal for the club on his third appearance was the pivotal moment in a 3-0 win and comes at a particularly opportune moment.

“The competition between Jackson and Delap is close, but there is little doubt who has the momentum right now. He turned a difficult evening into a routine one, and that, in essence, is the job.
“They will have to be better against Benfica. But if Delap can continue his promising start, there’s every chance they will be.”
With Delap through the door Chelsea are looking for a versatile forward with both Nkunku and Joao Felix set to leave.
The Blues have been linked with Joao Pedro and Mohammed Kudus, but are yet to make a move for either player.
Newcastle are also interested in Pedro, with Brighton thought to want around £60m for the 23-year-old, whilst West Ham are thought to be open to selling Kudus for less than his £85m release clause.
