According to NY Times, it was a bruising weekend for USMNT regulars in Europe, with Ricardo Pepi suffering a broken arm, Chris Richards returning in a shock FA Cup loss, and Joe Scally and Folarin Balogun both scoring.

Pepi struck PSV’s second in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Excelsior, then slipped and fractured his left forearm. The 23-year-old has 11 goals across the Eredivisie and Champions League this season.

The likely two-month lay-off halts Premier League interest, with Fulham most strongly linked, and he may miss the USMNT friendlies against Belgium and Portugal in March.

Balogun took his tally to eight for Monaco with a finish in a 3-1 French Cup victory at third-tier Orleans, following an assist in a 3-1 league defeat to Lyon.

Scally, 23, continued his strong Bundesliga form, opening the scoring as Borussia Monchengladbach beat Augsburg 4-0 on Sunday from right wing-back, troubling Finn Dahmen. Gio Reyna was a late substitute.

Richards returned from a foot injury but Crystal Palace, the FA Cup holders, were stunned 2-1 at sixth-tier Macclesfield on an artificial surface. Managed by John Rooney, younger brother of Wayne and a former New York Red Bulls midfielder, the hosts produced an all-time upset. Richards made 14 clearances, the most by any starting defender, and finished without discomfort.

Coming up, Christian Pulisic and Milan visit Como on Thursday at 2:45pm, Hoffenheim face Gladbach on Wednesday at 2:30pm where Gio Reyna could meet Cole Campbell, and Leeds host Fulham on Saturday at 10am. All times Eastern.
