José Luis Gayà will be with Valencia in San Sebastián, travelling despite a quadriceps injury that has ended his season. The diagnosis was confirmed on Saturday after he was hurt on Thursday against Rayo Vallecano.

According to AS, Valencia flew at 20:00 on Saturday with Gayà among the passengers. He told the club they could count on him for the trip, although Carlos Corberán cannot select him.

He will share accommodation and remain with the squad in the hours before facing Real Sociedad. Valencia need at least one point to secure survival.

It has been a difficult campaign for Gayà and for the team, and he finishes it in subdued fashion due to injury. He has been targeted by criticism at Mestalla at various points, but in recent months his focus has been the relegation fight.

By travelling to San Sebastián, the captain follows the lead of Copete, Thierry and Foulquier. They were also injured yet joined last week’s trip to Bilbao.
