Valencia battled to a hard-fought win over Girona at Mestalla, secured by goals from Ramazani and Umar Sadiq, with Stole Dimitrievski’s late heroics preserving the points.

According to Superdeporte, Corberán’s side had taken one point from their previous three matches, while Michel’s team arrived 13th on 39 points after taking four from nine against high-flying opponents, aiming to virtually confirm safety.

Ramazani put the hosts ahead after carrying the greatest threat in attack. Captain José Gayà then delivered a pinpoint cross for Sadiq to double the lead.

Girona reduced the deficit from a cross that Tárrega allowed to run, and Dimitrievski produced a superb late stop to deny an equaliser and close out a tense finish.

Pepelu looked assured stepping into central defence, while Guido brought calm and control in midfield. Luis Rioja worked tirelessly, Beltrán struck a post and Saravia held his side until tiring. Ugrinic was physical but wasteful on the break, Hugo Duro nearly settled it with a header and Diego López could not find his spark.
