Valencia’s clear-out has stalled, with several unwanted players likely to report for tests on 2 July while Ron Gourlay works on other deals, including finalising Sato’s transfer, convincing Meunier to join and persuading Guido to renew. According to AS, Carlos Corberán wants departures resolved.
Corberán dislikes carrying players he will not use, as seen with Hugo Guillamón last season. The group in limbo includes Baptiste Santamaría, Dani Raba, Cenk Ozkacar and Alberto Marí, with the latter two back from loans at Cologne and Mirandés. Sergi Canós is a separate case, he is out long term, will recover in Valencia and be reassessed in January.
Santamaría, 31, is not in Corberán’s plans and sits behind Pepelu and, if he renews, Guido. He is under contract until 2027, a loan is not being considered. He must find a club and settle his contract situation, and PAOK have contacted his agent.
Raba, 30, also has one season left and is outside the plans after limited minutes last term. He declined a January exit for personal reasons and must now reassess his future.
Ozkacar, 25, returns from a second loan, this time at Cologne, and is tied to Valencia until 2028. There had been hope the German club would trigger a 2 million euro option, but it was not exercised. With Copete and Diakhaby injured, Valencia need a centre-back but must first move the Turkish player out.
Marí returns after Mirandés were relegated to Primera RFEF, he scored one goal in 19 games and has one season left. He is recovering from injury in Alicante and aims to be ready for pre-season, after which club and player must decide his next step.
