Valencia’s preparations for a pivotal survival trip to RCD Mallorca have been hit, with Unai Núñez and Hugo Duro absent from group training two days before the match at Son Moix, according to Superdeporte.
Both are set to miss out unless there is a late surprise, leaving Carlos Corberán to adjust his starting XI again, with the defence particularly affected. Early optimism at the start of the week has faded.
With Eray Cömert unavailable, all signs point to Pepelu partnering César Tárrega to deal with an in-form Vedat Muriqi at a delicate moment in the season. On the right, Thierry Rendall is likely to continue despite being short of his best.
The squad list may need academy players to fill defensive gaps. None has featured in the league under Corberán so far, so handing out debuts now appears unlikely.
In attack the picture is simpler. Umar Sadiq is set to start as the number nine, with Lucas Beltrán, Diego López and Arnaut Danjuma viewed as stop-gap options should the Nigerian be unavailable. From the academy, Mario Domínguez and Aimar Blázquez await their chance.
