Valencia ‘make enquiry’ for Eintracht Frankfurt prospect Yannis Ahouannou | OneFootball

Valencia, led by head of scouting Lisandro Isei, are exploring a move for Yannis Ahouannou, 18, with an initial enquiry reported for the Eintracht Frankfurt defender.

The approach is at an early stage, with contact made via the player’s representatives and an initial plan to place him with the B team, with a pathway to Carlos Corberán’s senior side. According to Tribuna Deportiva, Ahouannou is a free agent after failing to agree new terms with the German club, and Valencia have asked whether training compensation of around 300,000 euros could be waived in exchange for a future sell-on.

Born in Germany to a family from Benin, Ahouannou has come through Eintracht’s academy.

He fits the profile targeted to strengthen the reserve side while offering first-team potential, which has drawn the interest of Valencia’s recruiters. His ability to operate on either flank and as a central defender is seen as a key asset.

Primarily a right-back, he can also play on the left and in the middle of a back four or a back three. He is rated for his versatility, tactical maturity and anticipation, and is considered among the more promising defenders of his age group in Germany.
