Guido struck with a first-time finish and again in stoppage time, yet Valencia’s display was uneven as Celta grew after the break.

According to AS, Dimitrievski saved low from Jutglà on 39, though he might have done more on Celta’s first. Núñez struggled at right-back, Swedberg turning him for 1-2.

Tárrega was composed until the press told, solid aerially but shakier on crosses and build-up. Cömert brought character and presence at set plays, though he too was overrun late on.

Masked captain Gayà celebrated 400 appearances with Saura before kick-off, then kept his flank secure and picked his moments to attack with little reward.

Guido has become Valencia’s midfield reference, breaking up play repeatedly to applause, then added his second. Javi Guerra dropped deep with limited influence before being replaced, while Radu denied an Almeida free-kick before he was withdrawn.

Rioja threatened on both sides and skimmed a free-kick past the angle. Hugo Duro fought without a box chance and went off, Ramazani showed pace but stayed far from goal.

From the bench, Sadiq contributed most, flashing one wide, crafting a chance Ugrinic missed, then supplying Guido late on. Ugrinic’s impact was clear and, if fit, he will return to the XI.

Beltrán sought to add attacking variety without much success, Thierry offered width, and Danjuma’s left-wing move led to Valencia’s second, though more is still expected.
