Valentin Carboni has suffered another serious knee injury while on loan at Racing Club from Inter Milan, this time to his right knee.

According to TycSports, the 20-year-old has sustained a complete anterior cruciate ligament rupture and a partial collateral ligament tear in his right knee, will undergo surgery in Argentina, and should miss at least eight months of competition.

It comes one and a half years after a serious injury to his left knee during a loan at Marseille from Inter.

The latest problem occurred in training. Carboni has featured sparingly for Racing Club, totalling 206 minutes in five appearances.

An Argentina international with three caps, he had a mixed spell at Genoa last season, playing 15 matches and scoring one goal, and this setback leaves uncertainty over his next steps.
