Valverde and Tchouameni ‘almost came to blows’ in Real Madrid training | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s season has turned fractious, with the latest flashpoint at training. Marca reports that Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni almost came to blows after a foul, the row continuing into the dressing room.

Earlier, tension flared between Antonio Rudiger and Álvaro Carreras. Onda Cero reported that the German slapped the full back in the dressing room, and Carreras later posted that it was an isolated, minor incident that is already resolved, adding that his relationship with the squad is very good.

Days before that, Kylian Mbappé confronted an Álvaro Arbeloa assistant during training after disagreeing with an offside call.

The run-in has been especially difficult, with the side already out of contention for any silverware. Arbeloa will end his spell in the dugout when the league season finishes.

Florentino Pérez is in negotiations with José Mourinho over a return, with a 30-minute video call serving as the first contact. Jurgen Klopp has been ruled out for being too interventionist and for the reaction it could provoke in a settled squad. Mourinho has laid out a series of conditions, some less flexible than others.
