Vandinho returned as Corinthians drew 1-1 with Marreco in the penultimate round of the LNF, securing top-flight safety and keeping their playoff bid alive. According to Meu Timao, the 33-year-old was back after almost nine months out.
He had ruptured his left Achilles in the first half of the LNF final on 13 December 2025, when Jaraguá won 3-0 in Santa Catarina. Before that, he scored in the 3-3 first leg at Ginásio Wlamir Marques.
Back on court, Fernando Malafaia used him in both halves and he threatened from the edge of the area, Velloso saving his best chance. His return is a timely boost in a turbulent campaign.
The draw moves Corinthians to 13 points and 11th place for now, four clear of São José and Marreco, both on nine in 15th and 16th, which confirms survival. Their record stands at three wins, four draws and seven defeats.
The playoff race remains open. Minas also have 13 with a game in hand against Pato on Monday, and if they take points, Corinthians would slip to 12th, the last berth.
Tubarão are level on 13 but behind on tiebreakers, so the final round will decide qualification. Corinthians host Pato Futsal on eight August at 19:00 at Wlamir Marques, before facing Impacto on Thursday at 20:00 at Parque São Jorge in the Paulista’s ninth round, where a win could take them top.
