According to Coluna Do Fla, Guillermo Varela is the only confirmed option among the World Cup call-ups as Flamengo visit Chapecoense on Wednesday in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The Uruguayan was already available for the friendly against Olimpia on Friday 17. De La Cruz and Gonzalo Plata could travel with the squad to Chapecó.

All three reported back together. De La Cruz has been training on the pitch, while the Ecuador forward is on a managed workload. The plan is to restore their physical levels after the break.

Léo Pereira, Danilo and Alex Sandro, who returned on Thursday 16, are not expected to feature. Arrascaeta and Lucas Paquetá are sidelined, with one in transition after a right calf issue and the other still treating a left thigh injury sustained against Japan at the World Cup.

Beyond the returning internationals, Flamengo also have two further absences. Léo Ortiz is recovering from a muscular problem dating back to May and is working on the pitch with physios and fitness staff.

Luiz Araújo suffered a left knee injury in the Olimpia friendly on Friday 17. Scans on Saturday 18 confirmed the problem, ruling the number seven out of the Chapecoense game.

Flamengo return to official action at 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 22 at Arena Condá. Rede Globo will broadcast free to air, with Premiere showing it via pay-per-view.
