Vasco allow Matheus França to return to Crystal Palace | OneFootball

Vasco will not renew midfielder Matheus França’s contract and have allowed him to return to England. The Flamengo academy graduate will go back to Crystal Palace, where he has an active deal.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the switch is planned for after the World Cup, which runs from June to July. França did not persuade Vasco’s hierarchy to extend his stay.

França’s agreement at Vasco runs until June this year. He has played 25 matches for the Rio club without a goal or an assist.

Flamengo sold the attacking midfielder to Crystal Palace in June 2023 for 20 million euros, around R$ 104 million at the time, plus a further five million euros, roughly R$ 26 million, in bonuses.

Meanwhile, Flamengo turn to their next assignment. They visit Atlético-MG on Sunday, 26, at 20:30 Brasília time in the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
