Vasco have announced the signing of defender Alan Saldivia, with the Uruguayan agreeing a contract until 2028.

According to Globo.com, the board met Colo-Colo’s demands and purchased the 23-year-old’s economic rights.

Saldivia was keen on a move to Brazilian football and had informed Colo-Colo of his intention to join the Rio club.

Diniz was the chief advocate for his arrival. At the coach’s request, Vasco had monitored Saldivia’s situation since August last year and reopened talks at the start of last week.

Born in Rivera, Uruguay, Saldivia came through at Defensor Sporting before moving to Chile in 2022 to join Colo-Colo.

He has made 94 appearances across the last three seasons in Chilean football.
