Vasco in talks to sign forward Spinelli from Independiente del Valle | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Vasco are in talks to sign Claudio Spinelli from Independiente del Valle. An initial loan proposal was turned down, and the Rio club plan to return with a new offer.

The 29-year-old caught the board’s eye during the clubs’ meeting in the last Copa Sudamericana, when he scored in both legs of the knockout tie.

A Brazilian agent offered Spinelli to Vasco at the start of the year, and the club formalised a bid last Tuesday.

Independiente del Valle are not keen on a loan, seeking around US$ 3 million, roughly R$ 15.5 million.

Vasco view those figures as high and are pushing for a loan with an option to buy tied to future targets.

The hierarchy see his arrival as a market opportunity, citing his aerial threat and penalty-box presence, qualities missing since Vegetti’s departure.
