Vasco are interested in Venezia forward John Yeboah, a 26-year-old starter for Ecuador at the 2026 World Cup. A deal is regarded as difficult at this stage.

According to Globo.com, the main obstacle is his camp’s wish to keep him in Europe. He stood out during Venezia’s promotion to Italy’s top flight, with 22 goal contributions in 36 matches, and his stock rose further after Ecuador’s exit to Mexico.

Vasco are attempting to sell their sporting project. Internally, the forward is viewed as bringing speed, dribbling and, above all, finishing power, offering qualities missing from Pedro Emanuel’s current options.

The right flank is presently covered by Adson, Marino Hinestroza and Nuno Moreira. Yeboah can also play through the middle, in a different mould to Brenner and Spinelli.

The club have other names mapped for the right wing, with the market priority to raise the side’s goal output. Yáser Asprilla of Girona is also being monitored, although that move is considered even harder.

Developed at Wolfsburg’s academy, Yeboah had spells in Germany, the Netherlands and Poland before joining Venezia in 2024.

Any proposal to Venezia is likely to mirror recent windows, using loans with options or obligations to buy, as immediate funds are limited. The club’s SAF is in talks with Marcos Lamacchia and is expected to see strong investment from next year.
