Vasco ‘to consider’ Diogo Leite signing | OneFootball

Vasco have opened enquiries in Europe to bolster their defence and have shortlisted Portuguese centre-back Diogo Leite for the next window, seeking an experienced left-sided option.

Super Rádio Tupi reports that the 27-year-old is on the club’s radar and that only an initial approach has been made to gather contract details, with no formal offer to his camp or Union Berlin.

The club know they must also address midfield and attack, and appoint a new head coach. Renato Gaúcho was dismissed on Thursday night and there is no agreement yet on a replacement.

Leite came through Porto’s academy and had consistent spells, including at Braga, before moving to Germany to play in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Rated for his passing out from the back, physical presence and ability to cover the left side, he is attracting Vasco’s interest while awaiting a swift decision on his future.
