Vasco’s football operation remains on ice as the club await a favourable court ruling to ratify signings. According to PaponaColina, overturning the injunction imposing corporate intervention is key to restore legal certainty, unfreeze SAF accounts and appoint a new head coach.
Frequent legal twists have hurt the 2026 sporting plan. Instability, fuelled by 777 Carioca, scuppered a deal with coach Fernando Seabra, who stayed at Coritiba, and blocked Gabriel Pec’s return as he joined Cruzeiro amid a lack of financial guarantees in Rio.
Once the tribunal clarifies the political picture, the expectation is for immediate announcements to raise the level of the first-team squad. Among recent links, Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are on the radar and would only advance once the bureaucratic standstill ends.
The hierarchy project that pacifying politics and lifting the injunction would let the club unveil new faces, offer financial guarantees and complete the share sale to Marcos Lamacchia. So far, left-back Paulinho from América-MG is the only confirmed addition, arriving on a free after a pre-contract.
Away from the legal chess at the TJRJ, Vasco’s players continue an intense training routine under interim Bruno Lazaroni at CT Moacyr Barbosa.
The coaching staff are focused on fitness and positional work before the return of official Série A fixtures. The Gigante da Colina visit Vitória on 16 July at 19:30 at Barradão, a crucial head-to-head to collect points and exit the relegation zone.
