Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao scored today on his return from injury but it was not enough as the Bianconeri fell flat in a 1-1 draw with Verona.
The Gialloblu put in a spirited performance to put to an end Juventus’ 100% record so far this season. The Old Lady remain unbeaten but now have three wins and one draw from their opening four games.
Speaking to the press after the draw with Verona, with quotes via TuttoJuve, Conceicao discussed the reasons behind the lacklustre team display.

“We’re a great team that plays in all competitions,” the Portuguese forward began, “so it’s normal to be a little more tired than the other teams. We knew it would be difficult here so it’s only normal that we wanted to do better – but unfortunately we didn’t manage it.”
Conceicao was the Bianconeri’s best player today, even putting his goal to one side.
The tricky winger, who made his first appearance since the injury suffered on international duty, was a constant threat and made life very difficult for his markers.

In an attempt to identify where Juventus went wrong today, Conceicao said “We knew Verona were strong at home but we lost a few too many balls,” he claimed, “This can be explained by the fact we play every three days.”
On head coach Igor Tudor’s faith in him, the winger said “We’re all strong. I do my best to make things difficult for the coach, then it is up to him to decide.”
Finally, the forward admitted “We made a lot of mistakes but the big teams have a lot of games to play,” he concluded, “we have to get going again immediately because Juventus must win every game.”
