Enzo Maresca hailed the performance of Facundo Buonanotte as “very good” as Chelsea scraped past Lincoln on Tuesday evening.
Chelsea advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 against the League One high flyers, but in reality it was a night forget for the Blues.
An awful first half performance saw Chelsea head into the break a goal down and booed off by the travelling fans, but two goals in the first five minutes of the second half from Tyrique George and Buonanotte turned the game on it’s head.
After a disappointing performance against Manchester United on Saturday, Maresca name a surprisingly strong line-up.
Enzo Fernandez captained the side, whilst Alejandro Garnacho was handed his first Chelsea start, and Bunonanotte played in the number ten.

For Buonanotte it was just his second start of the season after joining on a season loan from Brighton in the summer.
The Argentine like his team-mates struggled in the first half, but Buonanotte scored his first Chelsea goal after the break.
It was a night to forget in general for Chelsea, but Maresca stated after the game he was impressed with Buonanotte.
“Yeah, Buonanotte was very good. I think first-half, we all struggled a little bit, second-half I think we were much, much better,” he told his post-match press conference.
A number of Chelsea players missed the opportunity against Lincoln to stake their claim for more regular first team minutes.
