VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund: Team news and predicted line-up | OneFootball

Stuttgart will hope to cement their top-four hopes when they meet Borussia Dortmund at the MHPArena on Saturday. 

Sebastian Hoeneß’s men come into this fixture on the back of a 5-2 victory over Augsburg in their previous outing. Deniz Undav, Tiago Tomás, Nikolas Nartey and Ermedin Demirović were on the scoresheet to help Die Schwaben go clear by three points in third place in the Bundesliga standings. Chasers RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim remain firm on Stuttgart’s heels, and a defeat this evening could see three teams go level on points in the top four positions, should their competitors win their respective matches.

Finn Jeltsch, Julian Chabot and Ramon Hendriks should start as the three-man defence. Angelo Stiller should partner in midfield with Atakan Karazor. Undav will hope to net his 19th goal of the campaign as he is expected to finish as the runner-up behind Harry Kane in the Bundesliga top scorers chart. 

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are nine points behind league leaders Bayern Munich, and they are unlikely to be overtaken by any other team for second place, being eight points clear of today’s opponents. 

Since losing 3-2 to the Bavarians, Niko Kovač’s men have won all of their games to be in safe pastures for securing a Champions League spot next season. Die Schwarzgelben have experienced a largely comfortable campaign, but the Klassiker loss made all the difference in the Bundesliga title race. 

Jobe Bellingham is in contention to start with Marcel Sabitzer in midfield. Serhou Guirassy is set to lead the attack with Maximilian Beier and Julian Brandt behind him.
