VfL Wolfsburg ‘to explore’ move for 1.FC Union Berlin’s Doekhi

VfL Wolfsburg are exploring a deal for 1.FC Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi, Sky Germany reports.

The Dutch centre-back is one of two options as Wolfsburg look to reinforce their central defence.

The report adds that concerns in that area grew after the 8-1 defeat to Bayern on Sunday.

Doekhi will leave Union on a free transfer in the summer.

As recently as Friday, he was being courted by Premier League pair Aston Villa and Leeds United.

This season he has featured in all 16 Bundesliga matches for Union Berlin, scoring 4 goals.
