Victor Osimhen will not be at the 2025 CAF Awards

Victor Osimhen will not be present tonight in Rabat for the CAF Awards ceremony. The Nigerian striker must urgently return to Galatasaray to undergo medical tests after sustaining a hamstring injury during the match against DR Congo.

Victor Osimhen, who claimed the African Player of the Year title in 2023, was once again a finalist this year alongside Mohamed Salah and Achraf Hakimi. However, he now has to undergo an MRI scan to determine the severity of his injury. He was substituted at halftime during Sunday’s defeat to DR Congo. The medical staff suspects a muscle lesion and have decided not to take any risks.
