Chelsea got the job done against Pafos in the Champions League last night, winning 1-0, but there’s no doubt it wasn’t a great performance, and the crowd wanted more goals – goals that could prove crucial for our final standing in the table.

As you’d expect though, manager Liam Rosenior put a very positive spin on things when talking to Chelsea TV post game.

“[What impressed me most was] the character of the team, to keep going, to keep banging on the door, the energy levels to counter press… On another day we could have four or five goals,” the manager claimed.

“It was actually very interesting for me to learn about the resilience of the group in difficult moments, and I was delighted for the team, because they deserved to win the game.

What he saw as impressive calm in difficult moments we saw as a total lack of energy as the second half ticked on and we appeared to be heading to a draw in a game we needed to win.

We’re now four games in to the Rosenior era and we’re still not quite sure what to make of it. Crystal Palace this weekend will give us more clues about the reality of the situation.
