Egypt have regained the advantage against Nigeria in their final pre-Africa Cup of Nations warm-up.

Mostafa Mohamed restored the lead for the Pharaohs at Cairo International Stadium.

The striker made it 2-1 in the 53 minute finishing confidently from the right side of the penalty area after well-weighted assist from Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” as Egypt continued their preparations ahead of AFCON 2025.

First half

Egypt opened the scoring in the 27 minute through Mahmoud Saber who swept home a first-time finish from inside the box to cap strong spell for the hosts.

Nigeria responded deep into first-half stoppage time. A powerful long-range effort slipped from the grasp of goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy rebounding off the post before Chidozie Awaziem reacted quickest to tap in the equaliser at 45+3.

Mostafa Mohamed restores Egypt’s advantage

After the break.. Egypt pressed higher and rewarded when Zizo’s incisive pass split the Nigerian defence allowing Mostafa Mohamed to strike decisively and restore the lead.
