Liverpool fans continue to pay their respects to Diogo Jota, who was remembered during the friendly against AC Milan today.
The 28-year-old was killed in a car crash in northern Spain earlier this month which also claimed the life of his brother Andre Silva, and thousands of football fans worldwide have paid tribute to the siblings.
The Reds have retired the number 20 shirt in Diogo’s memory and also confirmed a series of further tributes this morning, some of which were in evidence before kick-off in today’s match in Hong Kong.
Shortly before the game started, Sir Kenny Dalglish laid a floral tribute to Jota on the pitch, while Liverpool fans in the stands displayed a mosaic reading ‘DJ20’.
Then, in the 20th minute of the match, many supporters inside the Kai Tak Stadium rose to the feet and applauded in memory of the Portuguese forward, with the mosaic again making an appearance, while banners and shirts displaying his name and number were also raised.

Jota’s legacy at Liverpool will endure forever, with his legend set to pass down for generations and be appreciated by future Reds fans who didn’t get to see him in action at Anfield.
His teammates continue to work through the grieving process week by week, with a return to the pitch and the pre-season tour to Asia giving them an opportunity to focus on what lies ahead while also commemorating their friend as appropriate.
The football world has kept turning since the tragedy in Zamora 23 days ago, but it remains to be seen just what effect it’ll have on the LFC squad over the course of the season, with the players taking on an extreme psychological challenge.
Supporters will continue to pay their respects to Jota at every opportunity, and the impact that he made on Liverpool during his five years on the club will never be forgotten.
