Tottenham Hotspur secured vital 2 - 1 away win against Leeds United on Saturday in Round 7 of the Premier League moving to within 1 point of leaders Liverpool.

Tel strikes first amid Leeds pressure

French forward Mathys Tel opened the scoring for Spurs in the 23 minute after combining well with Mohammed Kudus, his shot taking deflection off Pascal Struijk.

Leeds responded swiftly through Noah Okafor who tapped in rebound in the 34 minute after Guglielmo Vicario failed to hold Brenden Aaronson’s strike.

Kudus delivers decisive moment

In 2nd half Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Kudus produced the match winning moment with fierce effort that deflected past Karl Darlow in the 57 minute.

It marked his 1st goal for Tottenham securing Leeds first home league defeat in over year.

Manager Thomas Frank hailed his team’s composure during difficult weather & intense contest:

"The character was the foundation. To go here, face tough spells and still stay focused (that’s what won us the game)"

Leeds boss stays positive

Despite the loss, Daniel Farke praised his side’s performance:

"You can accept defeat against top side like Tottenham. If we keep playing like this, we’ll be fine"
