Aston Villa could still target another winger this summer despite agreeing a loan for Alejandro Garnacho. According to ExpressAndStar.com, that possibility remains on the table.

The 22-year-old has completed a medical and his switch from Chelsea is on track to be finalised on Thursday.

The deal is understood to include a conditional option to buy, which could see Garnacho sign a four-year contract if certain terms are met. Those terms are likely to be examined by Uefa, which closely monitors short-term player trading.

Villa sold Morgan Rogers to Chelsea this week for a British record £117 million, easing immediate pressure around Uefa financial rules. However, if Uefa judged any clause made the move “virtually certain” to become permanent, it would reduce the profit Villa can book on the Rogers sale.

Unai Emery prioritised more pace out wide and initially wanted two additions, before Villa had to rebuild midfield after Amadou Onana’s injury and the sale of Youri Tielemans. A combined £90 million went on Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, and another winger could follow later in the window if finances allow.

Outgoings may shape what happens next. Hull City have held talks over a move for Leon Bailey, and Villa will listen to offers for Evann Guessand. Emery also wants a left-back to replace Lucas Digne, who is joining Paris Saint-Germain, plus a right-back.
