Sebastián Villa has addressed transfer speculation, saying he would like to join River if a deal can be agreed. "I would like to play for River. Hopefully the parties can reach an agreement. If the opportunity arises, I will make the most of it," he told El que ríe último.
He said he has an agreement with Daniel Villa, president of Independiente Rivadavia, to be sold rather than stay another six months. "I kept my word, we made the team champions, put them into the Copa Libertadores and I stayed those six months in Mendoza. I think it is time to grow and this is the right moment."
On Boca he said: "Boca is the past. If I get the chance to go to River, I will give everything as I did at Independiente Rivadavia and in Bulgaria. Everyone knows I am a fan of Atlético Nacional de Medellín."
Asked what he would do if Marcelo Gallardo phoned, he replied: "If he calls, I will travel tomorrow."
He said his relationship with Riquelme did not end well, though he would still shake his hand and is focused on the future. Between 2018-19 and 2023 he played 172 games for Boca, scoring 29 goals and 33 assists and winning seven trophies. He left after unilaterally terminating his contract and sued the club following a suspended sentence of two years and one month for minor injuries aggravated by the relationship, gender-based violence and coercive threats against Daniela Cortés.
