Villarreal lodge €20m bid for Angers’ Sidiki Chérif | OneFootball

Sidiki Chérif (18) has netted four goals in Ligue 1 this season, and SCO Angers were therefore expecting that clubs would show an interest in the forward. L’Équipe understands that La Liga side Villarreal have entered into talks. 

Chérif, along with Prosper Peter, have impressed during the first half of the Ligue 1 season, compensating for the absence of Esteban Lepaul. The France youth international is now the subject of a bid from Villarreal, understood to be worth a little under €20m. 

Premier League clubs in the race to sign Angers forward?

For now, however, Angers are looking to hold firm. They value the player at €25m and do not wish to sell him for less. Negotiations between the two clubs will, therefore, continue. However, Villarreal are not the only interested party. As Get French Football News exclusively revealed in November, Chérif is attracting interest from clubs in England, Spain, and Germany.
