Villarreal signs young Argentine talent

Young Argentine forward Thiago Fernández has signed with Villarreal on a five-year deal, tying him to the club until June 2031.

He will officially join the Yellow Submarine in January 2026, upon the expiry of his contract with Vélez Sarsfield. At 21, Thiago Fernández has caught the eye of several European clubs thanks to his technical skills and his ability to make an impact in the final third. Last season, he scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 37 appearances.

Having suffered a right knee cruciate ligament injury in December 2024, the striker will not play again for Vélez before his departure. Nevertheless, Villarreal is betting on his physical potential and promising profile, aiming for medium-term development within the first team squad.
