André Villas-Boas was one of the speakers at the Portugal Football Summit and proposed a change to the Primeira Liga format: 20 teams, with a first phase of single round-robin and a second phase split into two groups depending on the results.

«The path to centralization is the repetition of matches between the big clubs. It could be expanding to 20 clubs and having a Champions League-type format, with just one round until December and two divisions. Something radically different. An FC Porto vs Sporting or Benfica would immediately be played three times. The three presidents can’t stand each other, but we have a path to follow.
