Vinícius Júnior returned to training with Brazil in Orlando on Sunday after skipping Saturday’s session as a precaution because of muscle discomfort. Tests later ruled out any injury.

According to Superdeporte, head coach Carlo Ancelotti had his entire squad available on Sunday ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Croatia, after the 1-2 loss to France, as preparations continue for the World Cup.

The Real Madrid forward felt pain in his thigh at the end of the France match, in which he played the whole game. He worked in the gym and underwent treatment on Saturday before rejoining the group.

Although he trained normally, it is likely Vinícius will not play the full match against Croatia, and he could even be held back.

Ancelotti’s squad have suffered several absences during this international break, the last before the Italian names his final list for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, which begins in June.

For Tuesday, Ancelotti will definitely be without full-back Wesley of Roma and forward Raphinha of Barcelona. Both were released on Friday with injuries to the back of the right leg and returned to their clubs for treatment.

The defeat by the world runners-up has deepened pessimism among Brazil fans, who are pressing for the return of Neymar, absent since a serious knee injury in October 2023. Since Ancelotti took over in May last year, Brazil have played nine matches, winning four, drawing two and losing three.
