Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to tie manager Vítor Pereira down to a long deal that is expected to be finalised before the end of the week.

The Portuguese coach's current deal expires at the end of the current season with the club keen to extend Pereira's stay to add stability according to BBC Sport.

The 57-year-old took over midway through last season and saw his side's fortunes improve with 12 wins from 25 games in all competitions.

Despite a poor start to the season, with Wolves losing all four of their Premier League fixtures, the club hierarchy want to stick by their manager.

The Molineux outfit will be looking to finally pick up their first league points this weekend when they host newly-promoted Leeds United.
