L’Equipe reports that Marshall Munetsi, the former Reims player and a Vitor Pereira favourite at Wolves, could leave in January amid a deteriorating situation following the managerial change, and that several French clubs are interested.

Munetsi was near ever-present under Pereira, whose reliance on the box-to-box midfielder grated during his final weeks in charge. Rob Edwards has no such attachment, and the player had already been used less before his current injury.

Wolves expect sales over the next 12 months as part of a reset in recruitment, and some of that could begin in January. Certain squad members will be deemed outside the plan.

Edwards is aligned with the recruitment approach, so some activity in the winter window would not be a surprise. The report also suggests a loan might be considered.

Wolves are in a weak position, and further links away are likely. If relegation occurs, loans of higher earners could support a swift return, an approach seen previously at Fulham and Sheffield United. It may prove preferable to cut-price sales in summer.
