Nottingham Forest hit the international break on a high, and Vitor Pereira now has a crucial fortnight to refine plans before the first leg against Porto on April 9.

Nottingham Post notes a transformed mood after reaching the Europa League quarter-finals, taking three vital league points and welcoming an injury return.

Barely a month into the job as Forest’s fourth manager this season, Pereira has moved quickly to install an identity built on fight, quality and freedom from fear.

Finishing remains a concern despite three at Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday. Only bottom club Wolves, on 24, have scored fewer Premier League goals, and the last five home games brought 99 shots for just one.

Set-plays also need tidying, though a worked corner delivered when Igor Jesus headed in Neco Williams’ delivery.

Home form is the other red flag, with seven league defeats at the City Ground and no win there since 29 January. The last league home success was 3-0 over Tottenham on 14 December, and Porto return for the second leg on 16 April.

A perfect break would include Chris Wood’s careful reintegration. He scored for the Under-21s on his first outing since October, and even late cameos might help as fitness and confidence build.

Pereira has leaned on motivation, coaxing a strong fringe display in Denmark and a rallying cry in the capital. The comeback and a stirring Sunday away helped reconnect players and fans, and keeping that mood intact is the aim beyond the break.
