Vitor Roque's return to Palmeiras' starting side lasted only 15 minutes on Thursday, the forward coming off with fresh pain in his left ankle during the Copa do Brasil tie with Jacuipense.

According to Globo.com, the incident came on the right after a heavy foul by Vicente Reis. He immediately signalled to be replaced and received on-field treatment. Taken away on the stretcher cart, he showed his frustration.

Luighi entered to replace him.

The forward has had problems with the same ankle since the Campeonato Paulista semi-final in early March. He played through the state final, then featured from the bench in the second half of two Brasileirão matches before stopping for treatment.

Palmeiras kept him sidelined for almost 30 days and delayed his return until Sunday to help restore confidence after the lay-off. He played the final minutes of the 1-0 win over Athletico-PR ahead of this latest setback.
