Vitória S.C. cruise as two VAR-confirmed penalties cap dominant display | OneFootball

Vitória S.C. thumped Tondela 5-0 at Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques, ending a four-match winless league run and leaving the visitors 17th in the relegation zone.

Oumar Camara opened the scoring in the fifth minute, drilling in from outside the box after a pass from Gonçalo Nogueira. Miguel Nogueira then finished off a break to double the lead (18.). Moments later, Gustavo Silva rattled the bar (24.).

After the restart, Samu converted from the spot (51.). Four minutes later, Gustavo Silva struck the bottom corner from the centre of the area to stretch the lead (55.).

VAR confirmed both penalties for the hosts. Joe Hodge was penalised for handball before Samu's conversion, and later Brayan Medina's foul on Gustavo Silva was upheld, allowing João Mendes to tuck in the second spot kick (65.).

Vitória registered 12 attempts, with five on target, and controlled the key moments. Tondela managed just three attempts, all from outside the box.
