Wahbi Khazri in the sights of the Carthage Eagles

Wahbi Khazri set for a return with the Tunisia national team?
Retired since December 2025, Wahbi Khazri is now preparing for a coaching career. According to the latest reports, he is expected to become assistant coach to Sabri Lamouchi with the Tunisian national team.
What if Wahbi Khazri made his comeback with the Carthage Eagles, but this time not as a player, but as an assistant coach? According to the latest information, the former Bastia, Bordeaux, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, and Montpellier player is set to become one of Sabri Lamouchi’s two Tunisian assistants.
Appointed as head coach in place of Sami Trabelsi after Tunisia's elimination in the Round of 16 of AFCON 2025, Sabri Lamouchi will come in with two assistants: German Michael Hefele as assistant coach and Frenchman Olivier Pédémas as goalkeeping coach.
The former Ivory Coast manager is also expected to have two Tunisian assistants, and Wahbi Khazri is well on his way to being one of them. With 75 goals in 319 Ligue 1 matches, Khazri is among the best to have ever worn the Carthage Eagles shirt. He has 25 goals in 74 international appearances and featured in two World Cups (scoring 3 goals).
