For Lens, Malang Sarr has been a defensive mainstay this season after coming through at OGC Nice, where he made 119 senior appearances from 2016 to 2020. Allan Saint-Maximin returned to Ligue 1 with Lens in January, having last played in France for Nice from 2017 to 2019, with 74 games, 11 goals and 15 assists.

For Nice, Jonathan Clauss made his name at Lens between 2020 and 2022, playing 74 times with 8 goals and 18 assists. That spell led to his first France cap in March 2022.

Salis Abdul Samed, a summer recruit, spent two seasons at Lens with 60 Ligue 1 appearances from 2022 to 2024 before a loan to Sunderland.

Juma Bah, 20, a Manchester City centre-back, played 10 games on loan at Lens from January to June 2025 and is now loaned to Nice.

Elye Wahi joined Nice this winter on loan from Frankfurt after one season at Lens. He posted 12 goals and 4 assists in 36 games there, struggling to justify the 30 million euros fee that remains a club record.
