Wallace Yan fought back tears in what was very likely his final Flamengo appearance, a 2-1 defeat to Bangu on Wednesday. He has an agreement with Red Bull Bragantino and is due to travel on Thursday to report in Bragança Paulista.
According to Globo.com, the 20-year-old will be bought by Bragantino for around 10 million euros, R$ 62 million, with Flamengo retaining a percentage of Wallace Yan.
After the match at Moça Bonita he thanked fans, said he had learned much and felt he was leaving home, adding he hopes to bring joy. Later on X, he wrote he had always given everything for his boyhood team and was grateful for every moment.
He had already said goodbye after Sunday’s draw with Portuguesa, midfielder Pablo Lúcio said, calling him a difference-maker and wishing him success.
Integrated into the senior set-up last year, he boosted the under-20s for the start of the Campeonato Carioca and started the first two matches. In 2024 he stood out under Filipe Luís and was promoted when the coach took charge.
He made 33 appearances last year, scoring seven with four assists, and was part of Libertadores and Brasileiro triumphs, travelling to Qatar for the Intercontinental Cup.
Highlights included a goal against Chelsea at the Club World Cup, which attracted interest from Wolverhampton, although no offer followed.
