Walsall have confirmed that 12 players will leave at the end of the 2025-26 season, signalling a sizeable summer rebuild.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Saddlers have yet to appoint a permanent successor to Mat Sadler, who left in March after two wins in 14. Darren Byfield then lost four of his final five League Two games. Walsall finished 13th, having topped the table on Boxing Day.

The departing players are Aden Flint, Brandon Comley, Jamille Matt, Charlie Lakin, Jamie Jellis, Evan Weir, Alfie Chang, Josh Gordon, Priestley Farquharson, Charlie Wragg, Dylan Thomas and Jake Hollman.

Flint made 48 appearances, scoring twice, while Comley departs after 151 outings. Former captain Matt leaves with 23 goals in 140 and last started on 31 January. Lakin registered five goals and five assists across 97 appearances, and Jellis reached 100 appearances on the final day at Bromley.

Weir featured 22 times after returning from Drogheda United. Injuries restricted Chang to six games and Gordon spent the season on loan at Barrow, scoring nine. Farquharson scored five in 35 this season, Wragg had EFL Trophy cameos after his 1-0 debut against Fulham under-21s, Thomas debuted aged 16 and made four appearances, and Hollman’s contract was ended by mutual consent.
